Imagination Playground

If you’re looking for a unique way to play, “playground” may not be the first thing that comes to mind. Think again! Thanks to a recent NYTimes article (shared by one of our lovely Smartsitters, shout out to Emily!) we’ve learned there is at least one extraordinary play space in every borough. Check out Imagination Playground, featuring 350 large blue foam pieces of interlocking shapes, at the South Street Seaport and a playground by the same name in Prospect Park featuring a giant bronze dragon that spews water in warmer weather. If you ever find yourself on Staten Island, there is a “Secret Garden” inspired botanical garden created especially for children featuring a medieval castle, a moat and even a hedge maze!
