I am presently a freshman BFA Musical Theatre Major at Pace University in Lower Manhattan, and I am currently auditioning for plays and musicals within my department and in the city. I would love to fill my free time with something else that I love: working with children. I come from a very large family, and have spent a lot of time with my two younger siblings, as well as my younger cousins. I would love to be paired with a family who I could help out with the little things like errands and homework, but I would also love to help some kids develop their passions, whether it is music, sports, or science.
I am originally from Colorado, where I attended a performing arts high school as a Vocal Music major. During my time there, I held many leadership positions and developed my musical abilities in both piano and voice, while participating in school musicals, plays, and clubs. When I wasn’t rehearsing for a show or working on school work, I was babysitting my two younger siblings or other family’s kids in my neighborhood. This past summer, I got a job as an instructor at a science day camp for kids. During my time at Science Matters, I found that I not only had a passion for kids, but also for teaching. I really enjoyed getting to know the kids in my day camp and watching them get excited about learning. In September, I moved to the city to attend Pace University on an Honors Scholarship. My hobbies include practicing & teaching Zumba. I became a certified instructor in May and have been teaching class to my peers in my spare time. I also enjoy reading, going to the movies and the theatre, and exploring the city with my friends.

Piano and singing, dancing, acting, reading, writing, and music theory.
Most memorable childcare experience:
This summer, one of the girls in one of my day camps had a hearing aid. Her mother e-mailed us prior to camp and explained that her daughter had not had successful summer camp experiences in the past. While most of the children and other instructors treated the girl differently, I treated her the same as the other kids, and we ended up forming a friendship. I would play frisbee with her during playtime and gave her tips on how to build her robot for her end of the week project. She really wanted to finish the robot without a lot of help from me, and I encouraged her to do so. At the end of the week, she built her robot successfully, and was incredibly proud of herself. On the last day of camp, her mother came up to me and thanked me for making her daughter's camp experience such a successful one. She said that her daughter wanted to come back next year because of me. I was so happy that I could help make one little girl's summer better.
In 5 years, I hope to be...
Graduated from Pace University with my BFA in Musical Theatre and performing a lead role on Broadway.
I am a:
Current undergraduate college student, CPR Certified sitter, 2011-2012 After School sitter
