I am a graduate of both Kenyon College and AmeriCorps, and I absolutely love working with children! I’ve been babysitting, tutoring, and mentoring children since I was twelve years old.

Every job I have ever had has required me to manage the schedules of those around me in order to accomplish a common goal for my peers or local youth. Before working for MKG (an experiential marketing company in SoHo), I worked for City Year as a Positive School Climate (PSC) Events Coordinator. Aside from my teaching responsibilities, the role literally required me to look up and assess the schedules of my fellow Corps Members in order to figure out the best times for them to help me carry out whatever event or community service project I was organizing. In a ten-month span, I managed to coordinate 14 events and 5 service trips for my school in order to churn out P.S. I.S. 50’s highest number of positive school climate successes in years.

I currently am a commercial model for companies like Evian, Spanx, and Jagermeister. I act part time (I’ll be in 3 episodes of “Nurse Jackie” and “Law and Order” this spring) and canvass to save the environment in my free time. There sincerely has been a void in my life since I stopped working with children in June, and I am very eager to get started again..

Most memorable childcare experience:

Well, one of my eighth graders, Jhayda Stallings, told me (before her own family) that she was pregnant. My mind was blown! Jhayda was quite the firecracker, and I constantly was fighting to get her to control her temper. One day, another one of my students, Queen, angered her so much that she had arranged to fight her after school. I shamelessly reminded Jhayda of her baby and the fact that she now had to look at the bigger picture and was responsible for another human being. It was as if a light bulb turned on. That is, I had rambled a bit before mentioning her baby, but as soon as I mentioned him, her entire demeanor changed. She helped me watch my after school class of 4th graders instead of meeting Queen outside for the fight, and told me in between helping them with their homework about all of her plans for her baby. Jhayda provided me with my proudest school moment ever!

In 5 years, I hope to be...

An established actor!!
