I am currently a sophomore Psychology major at Fordham University, with a Pre-Med concentration. One day, I hope to attend medical school and become a Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist. I have a passion for working with children, and have a long history of childcare and teaching experience. I am from central Ohio, and although my immediate family is average in size, my mother has twelve siblings and my father has six. Consequently, I have a large number of cousins (over fifty total) whose ages range from newborn to forty. Because of this, I have spent my entire life caring for my cousins, and now for my cousins’ children, as well as for numerous families in my neighborhood. It would be a gift to find a family with whom I can share my passion for children by providing them with reliable and loving childcare
During my high school education I balanced academics with providing childcare for numerous families in my community. At the age of fifteen, I began frequently caring for the one-year-old son of some family friends. I continued babysitting for this family throughout my high school education, and eventually cared for their two children (now six and five). At the age of sixteen, I began receiving phone calls from local families looking for reliable childcare. Through these opportunities, I have created life-long trust and friendships with these families. The first family to contact me had a one-year-old daughter, with whom I spent a lot of my time. Eventually, they welcomed a second daughter, and until this day, spending time with these two girls (now ages one and five) is my favorite past time. I also babysat for two other families; one family has two daughters (now ages three and four), and the other has a daughter and son (now ages four and one). I also took many dance classes in high school and was employed for three years as a Teaching Assistant for the pre-ballet classes (ages 3-6) at my dance studio. At the age of eighteen I moved from central Ohio to New York City to attend Fordham University. I absolutely love living in Manhattan! My hobbies include taking piano lessons, baking, and dancing! I also love taking long walks and spending my time outside!

My childcare expertise lies in working with…
I have babysat for at least 4 families with a child under one year of age, and one at 6 weeks of age! My responsibilities with these infants has ranged from simple feedings and diapering, to administering medication. I am also very comfortable with older children.
Activities and skills I love to teach and share with children:
Dancing, singing, and how to cook!
Most memorable childcare experience:
My most memorable childcare experience is a weekend I spent caring for the children of a family in my town. I have been babysitting for this family for almost 4 years now, and they left me with their two girls (ages 1 and 5) for a weekend. The whole weekend, the 5-year-old kept telling me we were going to have a sleepover. She was so excited! After putting the baby to sleep, we watched a movie, and I let her "stay up late." She felt like such as big girl, and we had so much fun together! Until this day she will ask me if I remember that time we had a sleepover.
In 5 years, I hope to be...
In medical school! I would love to go to school in New York City. I plan to specialize in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry./p>
