I am currently pursuing my education at Fordham University up in the Bronx. While very involved in student government and campus programming I manage my schedule so I still have time to do what I love: work with children. Though classes have been demanding, I have found time to develop special relationships with several families here in New York. From being a soccer camp counselor in high school to my current positions, I’ve learned working with children brings me a lot of joy.

I will be SmartSitting while...
Continuing my education at Fordham University where I am studying International Political Economy.
My childcare expertise lies in working with…
Twins! I am comfortable with all ages from 4 months to 14 years but I have my greatest amount of experience with 5-12 years old. I love working with siblings of various ages, the more the merrier!
Activities and skills I love to teach and share with children:
I really enjoy anything that gets kids (and myself) moving and learning! I love exploring the outdoors (even within city limits), sports (especially soccer and swimming), getting creative with art supplies (cereal box jet-pack anyone?), cooking (with farmers market ingredients), and using Spanish and/or French whenever possible.
Most memorable childcare experience:
My most memorable experience was when a mom told me that her daughter authored a picture-book for class entitled "My day with Eva." At that point I realized my relationship with these families and children can be really meaningful and influential. Being so far away from my home and family I've grown to feel like I have a whole new crop of younger siblings right here in New York. I also really value the advice that parents are able to give me. Working with kids has become a rewarding way to spend my free time as a student. I love nothing more than spending my Sunday mornings studying fiscal policy and my afternoons playing "Jedi."
In 5 years, I hope to be...
Working in some area that keeps me close to Latin America. Ideally I will be putting myself through grad school in New York, Chicago or San Francisco.
I am:
A current undergraduate college student, a Hamptons sitter, CPR Certified, a 2011-2012 afterschool sitter
