I was born in Texas, raised in Colorado, but always had my heart set on the big city. It’s been almost two years since I’ve moved to NYC and I feel I’ve learned so much about life during this time – how to be stronger, how to appreciate the little things that are so easy to take for granted, and how to grow in empathy for those whose life experiences have been so much different than my own.
I moved to New York for my love of the arts. My true passion lies in theatre, dance, and music performance. If my life can be dedicated to making the lives of others easier and more joyful, I will always be the happiest gal! That is why I love to perform, and why I became a certified yoga instructor and Level II Reiki practitioner. That is also why I love caring for and teaching children.
I grew up with a very large extended family (always surrounded by kids) and often visited the class of my mother, who taught for many years. I took the joy I found in caring for and spending time with children and translated it into one of my very first high school jobs - daycare at a gym in Colorado. Fast forward many years later to NYC and I am proud to say I have spent time teaching yoga to children from babies to 10 year olds and babysitting some of the city’s most awesome little ones.
I feel it is so important to nurture children through their growth, and to provide encouragement as they navigate new territory. I have been so fortunate to grow up in an environment of support and hope to bring that positivity to every child I have the privilege to spend time with.

Most memorable childcare experience:
One Christmas there was a wonderful outdoor market in Columbus Circle, and I enjoyed taking the child I was caring for around this festive atmosphere. I would take notes of what she liked for her mother so "Santa" could pick it up later and surprise her with it under the tree. When we went back inside from the cold, she still had so much energy so we invented a game called Dog Store. She creatively found items around the hotel room and we sat together pricing each item and decided what those human items were to dogs. We then set up the store and she played store owner. I would come into the store several different times as a different character, making silly voices and asking for different things. She had so much fun figuring out how to deal with each new person who walked in and I had a blast hearing all of the clever things she came up with. It's always a pleasure to see a child use their imagination.
In 5 years, I hope to be...
