I recently moved to New York City after graduating from Harvard last spring with a degree in Psychology and a minor in Theater. Growing up as the youngest of three boys, I always missed the opportunity to nurture a younger sibling. Thus, in college I became extremely involved working with children and I now count it as one of my primary passions. I am incredibly drawn to children’s energy, enthusiasm and honesty. I find spending time with them, whether in the classroom, on stage, or on the playground, one of the most rewarding uses of my time. A “starving artist” by profession, in my free time I enjoy exploring the greatest city on earth, imbibing its incredible wealth of culture and eccentricity, I am loving learning how to cook. I am also slowly working my way through sampling every ice cream shop in the five boroughs, suggestions are always welcome!

Pursing my other passion as a stage actor.

My childcare expertise lies in working with…

As a teacher and mentor, I have worked with children ranging in age from 5-15. My experience as a nanny overlaps that same age range, however I have also worked with families with young toddlers.

Activities and skills I love to teach and share with children:

I love finding new ways for kids to express themselves creatively - be that through art projects, impromptu dance recitals, digital camera movies, whatever strikes our fancy! As a native Midwesterner, I am always game to explore this incredible city and the many adventures it has to offer. I also love being outside in New York's many amazing parks and playgrounds, as well as tackling baking projects with kids.

Most memorable childcare experience:

This past year I worked closely alongside a child with ADD as a nanny and homework tutor. While homework was once a source of immense anxiety and frustration, it is now brings him (and me) great pride to be able to return to class the next day with every assignment completed neatly and intelligently. His growth has been remarkable and it is a joy to watch him realize his own monumental potential.

In 5 years, I hope to be...

A successfully working actor in New York, helping my own children realize their potential (perhaps a more likely 10 year plan). Watch out, Broadway, here I come!

I am:

A college graduate, CPR Certified, a 2011-2012 afterschool sitter, a special needs sitter
