I’m currently earning my masters from Mannes College in vocal music and opera, and hope to someday go into music education in addition to my performance career. I love working with children, and have been a tutor for many years in addition to teaching children music. I find working with children rewarding, engaging, and educational! I hail from a small town in New Jersey, where I went to the Academy of Medical Science and Technology in Hackensack, NJ. I was the captain of my varsity soccer team and also worked as a referee for children’s soccer leagues, helping to regulate games with children as young as five all the way to age 13. I also babysat for the same family for about seven years, helping to raise an infant girl and two toddler boys until they were too old to need a babysitter anymore! During high school, I helped tutor children from families who could not normally afford a tutor due to their financial situation. After high school, I attended Princeton University, where I continued tutoring both small children and teenagers while pursuing a degree in English.
I am a passionate classical music and opera fan, and love attending events at the Metropolitan Opera, and even worked there in marketing before deciding to pursue my Masters full time. I also love sports, reading, musical theater, and playing piano.

I will be SmartSitting while...
Earning a masters degree in music at Mannes College.
My childcare expertise lies in working with…
School-aged children and preschoolers, but I am also comfortable with babies and toddlers.
Activities and skills I love to teach and share with children:
Music lessons such as piano, singing, and brass instruments, soccer, basketball, swimming, reading, baking, and writing.
Most memorable childcare experience:
One school night, I was babysitting for the family living next door to me, with their two young sons and their daughter, who was a toddler at the time. We were inside playing in the living room when we noticed through the window that it was snowing. It was December and the first snow of the year. The boys got extremely excited, while Lily, the young daughter, did not fully understand what was going on, but noticed her brothers' excitement. The snow was coming down heavily and beginning to stick. I told them to put on their boots, gloves, and jackets, which they did excitedly. I bundled up the baby and we went outside to see the first snow. We only stayed outside for a few minutes, but the excitement and joy the children felt upon seeing the snow was a wonderful memory for me. The boys couldn't believe I let them venture outside on a school night when it was snowing, but there's nothing like the first snow of the season, especially when you are that age!
In 5 years, I hope to be...
Performing opera professionally, as well as giving voice lessons to many different students!
I am a:
College graduate, a Hamptons sitter, a 2011-2012 After School sitter
