I would welcome the opportunity to assist your child in strengthening his or her skills. I am a certified Special Education teacher and I am also certified in Elementary and Secondary Education. I have experience teaching ELA, math, and science. I have spent the past two years teaching at a middle school in the Bronx. Next year, I will be moving to a middle school on the Lower East Side.

I don't have a one-size-fits-all teaching style, because I recognize that every student's needs and learning style are different. During a session, I can cover academic content as well as reinforce organizational skills, effective note-taking practices and test taking strategies.

I have a deep love for the game of volleyball and enjoy sharing that passion with others. I began playing volleyball when I was ten years old and continued playing through college where I was part of the NCAA Division 1 Texas A&M Aggies. While coaching, my players learn the value of hard work and dedication. Many of my former students have gone on to play competitively in college.

Received a M.A. with honors in Teaching Students with Disabilities from the City College of New York in 2011
Received a B.A. in English Literature and Language from the University of Southern California in 2006 and graduated Magna Cum Laude
Attended Texas A&M University from 2001-2004 and was a member of the NCAA Division 1 Volleyball Team (Big 12)
Volleyball player for 15 years and coach for 2
Special education teacher (2009-Present)
Familiar with the NYC Department of Education's curriculum and core standards

Career Highlight:

I helped my special needs students at a high needs public school improve over a grade level by the end of the school year in math.

Fall 2011 Availability:

For the 2011 - 2012 school-year, I am available Monday through Thursday from 3:30pm to 9:00pm and on Friday from 3:00pm to 9:00pm. I am also available on the weekends.
